Call for submissions

Thank you for your interest; the submission deadline has now passed. Past zines will soon be available to purchase online.

We are looking for submissions from anybody who aligns with Queerly Represent Me's culture of diversity. Although we particularly spotlight sexuality and gender diversity, we also know the importance of intersectionality, and are happy to receive work that explores all forms of diversity from an intersectional array of authors and artists.

Also, just as we typically focus on games or the games industry, we are also happy to publish any pieces that suit the overall feeling of the zine, so if you're unsure if something might be a good fit, feel free to submit it regardless or double check with us at

Submission requirements

Please include a name or pseudonym with your submission that we can attribute your work to.

Keep all written work below 500 words. Submit written work in a separate document (preferably .docx or .doc), rather than in the body of your email.

Submit images at a large resolution (2000px x 2000px would be awesome) and 300dpi for ease of resizing as needed. If this file size doesn't allow you to attach your image to an email, feel free to link to a dropbox or similar.

Zine Submission

All successful and published submissions will be awarded a nominal payment, based on the funding we receive during the submission process. The finished zine will be available digitally, and we will be also be publishing a limited run of physical copies!

Q: Will you accept submissions from people under 18? A: We will be accepting submissions from people aged 15 and over. The zine may include some explicit language or themes, but we are going to be keeping it to the 15+ level, rather than an 18+ level. Q: Do I need to provide my full name with the submission? A: We are more than happy to attribute your work to a pseudonym or whatever name you would most like to go by. The attribution is for you, not us, so we can use any name you like (or publish your work anonymously). Just let us know! Q: Is this zine a regular publication or a one-off? A: We are planning to create one zine for 2018 to trial the format. If we do make it a more regular thing, it will likely be an annual collection and not a regular publication. We have plenty of reasons for this—trust us! Q: Are you publishing everything that is submitted? A: Unfortunately, we will not be able to publish every submission. We will be curating a zine based on what we receive, and will get in touch with every creator who submits something to let you know whether or not your work has been successful. You'll receive this notification after the submission deadline and a curation process. Q: Can I submit more than one thing? A: You absolutely can! If you're tossing up between a couple of pieces, we're happy to receive them both and select whatever suits our final zine better.
