Killing Time at Lightspeed

Dialogue window on screen. Text reads 'Viewing hashtags hashtag watchlist'. Dialogue reads 'b r b moving to Canada hashtag watchlist' and 'Holy shit, I can't believe this hashtag watchlist bullshit. Fuck this country.' and 'Wow, never been so glad I couldn't afford implants. Hashtag watchlist.' and 'Government workers and corporation employees will be exempt from hashtag watchlist checks? The fuck?'.
How many of us spend time mindlessly browsing through social media sites as a way of avoiding the terrifying realities and responsibilities of life? (It’s all of us – don’t lie).

Killing Time at Lightspeed is a game that simulates doing just that, only every time you refresh your feed, a significant amount of time passes. As in, a really significant period of time, not just the afternoon you planned to use to get stuff done. Friends will keep you updated on their lives as you travel through space, technology will evolve around you, and you can interact with those things however you like – or not at all. It’s definitely a unique idea, and it features a diverse cast of characters, and I’d absolutely recommend playing it instead of wasting time keeping up with the lives of your actual friends.

You should play this if…

you want to try something with a unique concept that also features some awesome queer characters. Your friends don’t always have great things to say about how the people in their lives are reacting to their relationships, but you remain mostly removed from those comments. I do have to disclose that my face was one of many used for the random people commenting on world events/annoying ads, so I might be a little biased. (You can see it in the image to the right - obviously my name isn't Kristina, but I don't NOT feel like moving to Canada).
